Prevention and Early Help Information

Adult Safeguarding Conference: ‘The Challenge of Prevention’ - Resources Page

The Aim of the Conference was to promote
close working between partners to prevent adult

         abuse and neglect.

A key focus of the day was on improving Mental

Capacity Act Assessments, whilst ensuring the

adult is always involved and kept at the heart of
         professional’s practice.

The power point slides and other resources

from the event are published here:

         Whole Community Approach:
Preventing Adult Abuse and Neglect Leaflet

A Task and Finish Group made up from the Board’s partner
agencies and other community organisations have been working

on the development of this leaflet over the last few months.

This is designed to help professionals better understand some of

the barriers that may exist in relation to the lack of reporting of
Safeguarding Concerns involving adults from ethnic minority

backgrounds across Tees. Practitioners are encouraged to use
the information and the resources signposted in the leaflet to help

improve community engagement. This can be printed and
         downloaded here: https://www.tsab.org.uk/professionals/posters/

         Safe Place Scheme

Training resources for the Safe Place Scheme are hosted on the Board’s

You Tube Channel, along with a number of other videos linked to the subject
                                      of adult safeguarding: https://www.youtube.com/channel/

         Find Support in Your Area
The Board’s website also maps relevant support

services by strand of abuse and by each individual

Borough across Tees. This is reviewed and
updated periodically, although it is not intended to
be a definitive source of information for all service

         providers:
