Learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs)
A summary of the most prominent SAR cases are published here. July 2018:

SAR: EVA (Sunderland City Council) highlights the importance of completing MCA
Assessments, and the key difference between the assumption of capacity, and an assessment
of capacity that has concluded the person has capacity. Managers of Care Homes are
reminded that significant neglect / self-neglect cases should be raised as a Safeguarding
Concern in line with multi-agency policy and procedures.
SAR Library
SCIE and RiPfA have now launched the SAR Library which has an initial 96 reports catalogued
(from 2015 to 2018). This will hopefully become the primary source for sharing the learning
from reviews: https://www.scie.org.uk/safeguarding/adults/reviews/library/apply
